Dr. David Forstadt, PsyD is a psychotherapist who has 15 years’ experience in the field of behavioral health specializing in addiction, dual diagnosis populations, and mental health administration. He has authored multiple publications in international journals focused on substance use and mental health issues.
As an expert on program development, integrated care, and research-based approaches, Dr. Dave has helped provide services to many population segments of the behavioral health field including those who have been marginalized and underrepresented in traditional treatment interventions. He has created, consulted and restructured dozens of treatment facilities across the United States to elevate the quality and inclusiveness of clinical services provided.
Dr. Dave has spent much of his career addressing the social paradigms that have perpetuated stigmas and stereotypes of addiction and mental health-related issues. As a member of the LGBTQ community, he has sought to increase queer individuals’ access to affirmative and inclusive care as well as providing advocacy around minority stress and its implications on well-being.
Dr. Dave lives in Los Angeles, California, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his husband, Jacob. They have two daughters, Victoria, and Aurora as well as two fur children, Nicholas, and Molly.
